Week 10: Continuing with MIT App Inventor

This week we will be continue using MIT App Inventor.  In this activity, you will develop a game that has some of the most common features in gaming: a hero, a villain, a timer, and a score. You will use sprites and animation, to make the hero and villain move about the screen, and variables to track the time left and the score.
Objectives:

Students will...
  • Log in and out; and create, save, and retrieve projects in the MIT App Inventor programming environment.
  • Decompose a problem into smaller parts.
  • Describe ways data can be stored on a digital device.
  • Store, access, and update data stored in variables (temporary data).
  • Trace a program and deduce the values that variables will have after the code is executed.
  • Debug programs using a variety of strategies to isolate and identify problems, including analyzing error messages, analyzing variable values line by line, generating output, or commenting out code.
  • Communicate to meet the needs of the audience and be appropriate to the situation.
