Week 11: Isometric Sketching

This week we will be starting our isometric sketching unit. Isometric sketching is projection is a method for visually representing three-dimensional objects in two dimensions in technical and engineering drawings. It is an axonometric projection in which the three coordinate axes appear equally foreshortened and the angle between any two of them is 120 degrees.
 Objectives:

Students will...
  • Draw and interpret visual representations of objects.
  • When designing products, move fluidly among real-world, isometric, and multiview sketches.
  • Communicate information using engineering drawings and measurement conventions.

Activities:
In Class Day 1:
  • Begin Activity 1.2 A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words
In Class Day 2:
  • Continue Sketching Practice in Activity 1.2
At Home Day 1:
  • Watch the Isometric Drawing Intro Video Linked to the Right
  • Use this Isometric Drawing Tool to Create the Shapes Made in the Video
  • Submit a Picture of Your Sketches to Teams
At Home Day 2:
  • Use this Isometric Drawing Tool to Create a Shape of your Choice.
  • Take a Screenshot Using the Snipping Tool and Save it to your GTT Folder (or Desktop).
