Week 3: Wigglebots & Tynker
In class this week we will be doing a mini design challenge, yay! You will be creating your very own wigglebot- a motorized robot that can draw all on its own. I will give you more details on your design challenge in class.
At home this week we will be begin our first coding lesson! To do this, we will be using a website called Tynker. Tynker is an educational programming platform aimed at teaching children how to make games and programs. Instead of typing the source code, you visually drag blocks of code and snap them together. Block coding is a great way to start your coding career and learn the different skills necessary to become fluent in computer science and code.
The first lesson you will complete in Tynker is the Programming 300 coding course! In this lesson, you will combine sequencing, conditional logic, and loops as you complete 12 puzzle modules about a dragon. Additionally, you will create and customize a dragon avatar! Below I have included a picture of code blocks you will encounter in this lesson. Read through them before getting started.
